On Copyright and fair agreements within Film and Writing

In november 2022, ArtNexus and Destil Creative Hub organized a workshop focusing on copyright issues in film and writing in Tirana. The two-day workshop was attended by over 38 people in person and 10 online participants. Ambassador Elsa Håstad attended and discussed the importance of copyright with participants. The agenda included analyzing national laws and frameworks, focusing on EU directives in administrative law, and their implementation. The leading expert in collective management and copyright Mats Lindberg was the coordinator for the workshop, which was attended by seven speakers with different experiences in the subject.

The speakers raised insights and lessons learned from the UK and EU. The workshop was based on previously conducted surveys with cultural stakeholders in Albania, showing the need for further capacity-building efforts in intellectual property law and meetings with government representatives.
