On the 30th of May, Destil Creative Hub hosted the ArtNexus event “Talking Archives and Curating” where an exploration of Swedish archival and curatorial practices took place. The audience, containing more than 50 participants from both public and private Albanian institutions, received insightful knowledge and perspectives on archival and curatorial practices by Swedish experts in the field; Anna-Karin Larsson, Andreas Bertman and Johanna Sandell.

Anna-Karin Larsson is a director and producer at Filmform, one of the oldest archives in the world devoted to video art and experimental film. Anna-Karin Larsson's background is in stage art, dance and performance and she has a lot of experience leading projects concerning the collection and preservation of older experimental film and video art. Andreas Bertman’s background is in photography and visual arts. Among other things, Bertman has been developing several parts of Filmform's visibility in terms of publications and events as well as communication towards curators, writers, scholars and different audiences. The third speaker at the event was Joanna Sandell, director of Liljevalchs art gallery and co-founder of The Mirror Institution together with Steuart Wright, a “shadow-institution” that mirrors and expands the programming of public art institutions.

Following this insightful discussion at Destil, the audience, along with the Swedish delegates and representatives from ArtNexus, were gathered to experience a curated selection of artworks from Filmform - artists' film & video archive. This collection, spanning 60 years, showcased three remarkable gems of experimental films.

**Film Showcase on May 30th:**

  1. **"Buffalo Bill in 27 Forms" (1957) by Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd (Duration: 4 min)**

This film emanates from the patterns created when two celluloid sheets, each painted with distinct designs, are moved in relation to each other.

  1. **"Ultramarina" (1984) by Cecilia Edefalk (Duration: 14 min)**

Edefalk submerges paintings and objects in the ocean to portray the infinite space, accompanied by captivating visuals and music.

  1. **"The Hour Of Meeting Evil Spirits" (2022) by Johan Thurfjell (Duration: 19:45 min)**

Delving into Japanese mythology, this slow animation comprises digitally processed woodcuts from the early 19th century, guiding viewers through mystical landscapes and ethereal realms, exploring the thin line between our world and the spirit world during the twilight hours.

This unique cinematic experience showcased the intersection of art, culture, and storytelling, captivating the audience and leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
