ArtNexus invites innovative project proposals that demonstrate a clear commitment to advancing the capacities of new and existing cultural organizations in Albania.
This call specifically targets projects within the area of capacity-building for artists, with a focus on the creation of safe spaces for artists and cultural practitioners to expand their work and develop their artistic creations. Proposed activities should align with key areas such as freedom of expression, human rights, accessibility, inclusion, intellectual property, or copyright.
Applicants are encouraged to consider and describe how their project aligns with the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The SDGs provide a global framework for addressing key challenges and fostering sustainable development.
Applicants can apply for financial support for arranging activities or the financial support from ArtNexus can also be used as seed money, hence, applicants can apply for financial support on finding additional funding, for example, the development of a pilot activity or support for writing an application for another project.
Grant Details:
Type of Support: One-time financial support
Purpose: To enable new or established organizations in Albania to pursue and sustain capacity-building initiatives.
Amount: 5000 Euros
Duration of Fund Utilization: final report deadline 15th of November 2024
Eligibility Criteria:
- Registered civil society organizations and businesses operating within Albania with primarily focus on promoting and strengthening arts and culture. Proof of registration must be included with the application.
- Project activities must solely center on capacity building within the cultural sector. The application must clearly align with the overarching goal of strengthening artists' rights and contributing to a dynamic cultural landscape in Albania.
- All proposed activities should be conducted in Albania.
- Applications must clearly articulate the need for capacity building and outline how the financial support will address the needs of the cultural sector in Albania. In the case of applying for seed money for financial support on project writing, applicants must indicate what funding they are applying for and within which project.
Application Process:
- Positive Change and Capacity Building:
- ArtNexus seeks proposals that clearly outline how the project will contribute to positive change and capacity building for artists and cultural practitioners in Albania. Applicants should provide specific and measurable goals, detailing the envisioned outcomes for participants. This may include enhancing specific skills (e.g., project management, communication, etc.), fostering a supportive network, or empowering artists in areas such as freedom of expression and intellectual property rights.
- Describe the project that the organization will implement and develop.
- Clear goals and outcomes of the capacity-building project.
- Describe in detail what the organization intends to achieve within the framework of the project.
- Account for the risks linked to the project’s role and contributions, and describe the measures taken to minimize them.
- Explain how the project’s contributions will live on after the establishment phase.
- Indicate whether the project has received pre-funding from another donor.
- Distinctiveness in the Albanian Cultural Scene:
- Applicants are encouraged to specify the novel approaches, methodologies, or target groups that set the project apart. Addressing gaps in current offerings and explaining how the project fills these voids will strengthen the proposal.
- Explain how the project’s involvement makes it different from already existing projects in the field of culture in Albania.
- Provide a clear working plan with a timeline for the project implementation, activities, follow-up actions, and a detailed budget. Recipients are required to submit progress reports halfway through the project implementation, detailing the implementation of their activities. A final report summarizing the outcomes and impact of the grant-funded activities will be expected upon the completion of the project.
- Implementation Tools:
- Describe the tools and methodologies that will be employed to implement the project activities successfully. This may include a combination of workshops, training sessions, mentorship programs, and networking events.
- Detailed methodology of how the organization will implement the proposed activities.
- Clarify how these tools align with the project's goals and how they will effectively address the identified needs within the cultural sector.
- Submit a financial budget, providing a detailed breakdown of how the funds will be utilized.
Applicants are urged to provide concrete and detailed information, ensuring that their proposals stand out in terms of specificity, innovation, and practical implementation strategies. The financial support will only cover the activities and ideas that the application specifically addresses. The financial support will not cover the overall costs of the implementing organization.
