Albanian Art Delegation in Stockholm
ArtNexus hosted a delegation of Albanian cultural actors in Stockholm between 9-15 May 2023. The agenda included a week-long program with workshops and meetings with Swedish cultural actors and the ArtNexus resource group. Workshops focused on the importance of organizing to better represent the target group in front of decision-makers and have their voices heard to drive social change. The program included visits to the National Association of Artists, Visual Arts Sweden, the Swedish Arts Council, Filmform, Stockholm Art Fair and Supermarket Art Fair.
The purpose of the delegation was to deepen the knowledge of the delegates within self-organization, provide support and tools for the cultural activities to take with them to Albania, and expand their network and contacts in Sweden.
(ArtNexus aimed to support the start of developing Albania’s first interest and expert organization in artists’ rights to strengthen their rights in the form of a common voice. Following the week in Stockholm, the delegate held a talk in Tirana to further discuss the next steps and the future of an artist’s association in Albania.)
